Okay, so I ripped the “Silence, I kill you” off from Jeff Dunham, a ventriloquist comedian that has the most hilarious bit I have seen on terrorism. Of course, it is pretty hard to get a laugh out of such a serious topic and it may not surprise you to learn that I have an opinion about the plans for an Islamic Community Center and Mosque two blocks from ground zero in New York. This is the very place where a piece of the hijacked plane’s landing gear fell from the explosion that rocked one of the towers. For that reason, and that reason only, it has been vacant since 2001. This IS ground zero. Now President Obama has become a staunch defender of the U.S. Constitution. As much as it pains me to admit it, the President is right in saying that the Muslims have the right to build. Now, I wish he extended those same property ownership rights to the wallets of the American people, but nonetheless he in on the mark. What is really at hand here is why the peaceful, caring, loving, kind, religion of Islam does not have anyone speaking out against this (actually, there are a few, but I am talking like 3). I mean, if you were Muslim, wouldn’t you already be completely mortified that someone in the name of your peaceful religion has used it to slaughter thousands of innocent people? It is very difficult for “mainstream” Islam to make a stand at this point because Muslims have had 9 years to make a stand and they have failed miserably. Maybe this is why an overwhelming percentage of American people are against the construction of this Mosque at ground zero.
This is not an issue of religious freedom or even religious tolerance as some have suggested. The real issue comes down to the fact that the Muslim community has done a very poor job at disassociating themselves with radicals in their religion. One could argue it is simply the result of lack of effort. Even the Muslims who condemn terrorism follow it up with…”but you have to understand what America has done to them.” If the American people, regardless of their religious views, would see scores of Muslims publically appalled by the hijacking of their religion (pardon the pun), there would be more acceptance and understanding. This particular Imam (that’s the Priest for you Catholics, Rabbi for you Jews, or Preacher for you Baptists) for the planned Mosque has gone on record as promoting the fine merits of Sharia Law and feels it should be observed in America. I am not sure which part he feels is best. Perhaps the part where woman are stoned to death for adultery. Hmmmm….maybe the part where freedom of speech is strictly forbidden in the criticism of Muhammad and punishable by death. Now isn’t that interesting? The very Amendment in the Bill of Rights which gives these people the right to build a Mosque at Ground Zero is also the same Amendment that is restricted under Sharia Law (Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech…for you average American ignoramuses out there…that’s in the First Amendment). The bottom line is that the people of Islam will not convince America they have a peaceful religion until they stand up against the radical faction within their own religion. My guess is that it is a very hard argument to make given much evidence to the contrary. The bottom line here is that the Mosque at Ground Zero would be a big, giant “up yours” to America from Radical Islam and a constant symbol of their victory. Make no mistake about it folks. There has been a victory against America. In fact, quite a few of them.
I have decided to help my Muslim brothers get their disassociation kicked off with a prepared statement for their use to denounce the radicals in their religion (I would say “and sisters”, but they really don’t roll like that). This is my suggested wording, but they may have their own. The red words are non-negotiable, but the rest can be changed without altering the message. Let me also add that my decision to depict the non-negotiable words in red in no way is intended to parallel that of the words of Jesus Christ in the King James Red Letter Addition of the Holy Bible.
My prepared speech for any Muslim.
“There have been times where we have shown arrogance and been dismissive”….ooops, sorry…wrong apology speech, but as you know, it is not hard to deliver. Let’s try again.
“Over the past 9 years, I have been mortified and embarrassed by the thugs and murderers who have killed innocent people in the name of Allah. In no way did America bring this evil upon themselves with their actions and policies of the past. Muhammad is a prophet of peace and these murderers are desecrating his name. They most certainly are not pleasing to Allah and are not martyrs. I denounce their actions and also denounce Hamas as a terrorist organization. They are not living a life consistent with the teachings of Muhammad. Please do not associate me or my religion with these filthy murderers. I am a proud American and thankful to this country for allowing me to practice my religion without oppression or the fear of reprisal. I understand that many people may associate my religion with these murderers because they claim the name of Islam, but please do not think of me as you do them. Peace be with you and Allah Bless the United States of America.”
I am not sure if they say “Allah bless you” in the Muslim community, but it sounds good to me. Also, the part about being American can be removed for the international version, but there it is. Like most, I could go on and on about this topic, but let me add this. Under Islam, a child born of one Muslim parent is also Muslim. Now, President Obama has publicly stated many times that his Father was Muslim, and yet Obama is a Christian. To me, that sounds like he has rejected Muhammad, which is an offense punishable by death under many Islamic cultures including Sharia. Good thing we live in America, but I sure wouldn’t want those Sharia Law nut jobs anywhere around me if I had rejected Islam.

Gay Marriage
Okay….back in the media again…blah blah blah. I am just trying to figure out how two gay people getting married are going to impact me one bit. Like I have said before, let them give it a shot. Lord knows us heterosexual’s don’t have a great track record in the last 30 years. In all seriousness, the only reason this subject tweaks me even a little bit is because of the government sanctioning any marriage in the first place, including my own. Marriage is a RELIGIOUS PRACTICE!!!!!! Again, marriage is rooted in religion and nothing else. For that reason, why do any of us, straight or gay, have to get permission from government to get married? Hell, you have to go get a freakin license from the government to get married for crying out loud!!!! Yeah, yeah…don’t give me all that stuff about tax brackets, benefits, etc. because all that stuff came later after the government decided to start giving us permission to get married. Okay…I am calming down now. I hope I don’t have to get a license for all those exclamation marks. My point is that Marriage is a religious practice and government permission intrudes upon the necessary separation of church and state.

The 2nd Amendment survives in Chicago, but for the wrong reason
Not too long ago, one of the most violent cities in America was successfully challenged in the Supreme Court. It seems as though it is against the law to own a gun in one of the most violent cities in the country. How can that be? Well, anti gun laws do not reduce crime, they increase it. Uhhhh…that’s sort of what the Bill of Rights is intended to do, which is protect certain rights documented in the constitution and cannot be restricted in the states. Does this guy actually believe himself? Regardless, the U.S. Supreme Court does not see it his way. The case was actually challenging a court ruling where someone was not allowed to keep a gun in their own home. The thing that troubles me the most is that the average American believes the 2nd Amendment exists so that people can protect themselves from bad guys who try to hurt them at home. While that is a nice byproduct, it was not the true intent. The 2nd Amendment exists so people can protect themselves from the government. Plain and simple. Unfortunately, everyone thinks I am a whack job when I say stuff like that, but do your homework and you will find it to be true.

Free verses Freedom. Both come with a cost to someone, and the one who benefited without paying the cost is the one who forgets who provides it. That goes for the folks in this country who enjoy freedom, but have not sacrificed to have it, just as it does someone who enjoys “free” anything without sacrificing to get it. Man, I know the first lady is supposed to be off limits, but she just makes it so hard to pass up. Looking for a Iraq War Protest?
Liberals are warning us to be careful of the “anti-government” movement. They call it dangerous. They say that Tea-Partiers are not really protesting unfair taxation, but rather just hate the Federal Government. If that isn’t enough to make you not like Tea-Partiers, Liberals say they are racists. Of course, there is no evidence of racism at tea parties. But that is how such accusations work today. No facts are required. Here’s a little trivia question. Which political party tried to block the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Democrats! THAT is a fact.
The notion that Tea Partiers are not really protesting taxes, but rather the Federal Government got me to thinking a bit. Maybe they ARE protesting the Federal Government and its abuses. So? Then, I started to think about anti-war protesters and if they were really protesting the war, or the government. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks……where did the anti Iraq War protestors go to? They disappeared! And yet, we are STILL in Iraq with daily casualties.

Now THIS is scary. If you do not find this unsettling, then just go back to watching live footage of the oil slick move ashore in the Gulf of Mexico. Mr. President, at what point has someone made enough money? What is the number? Who determines this figure? As I have said many times, wealth envy is at the heart of many Americans today. What they have personally accomplished and earned does not matter to them, so long as someone else does not have more. This is particularly true when it is perceived that someone with more wealth did not put forth great effort to earn it. The concept of wealth envy is as old as time itself and is even the subject of one of Jesus’ parables. In Matthew 20, Jesus talks of a landowner who hired several different groups of workers throughout the day. He told the first group early in the morning that if they worked all day, they would each receive one Denarius. As they day progressed, the landowner proceeded to go out and hire four more groups of workers at different times, the last group being hired in the “eleventh hour” of the day. He told all of these subsequent groups that he would pay them “what is right” when the work day was over. From the scripture: “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’ The workers who were hired about the eleventh hour came and each received a Denarius. So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against the landowner. ‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’ But he answered one of them, ‘Friend, I am not being unfair to you. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? Take your pay and go. I want to give the man who was hired last the same as I gave you. Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’ So the last will be first, and the first will be last.” (Matt. 20).
Here, the first group was clearly happy with their agreed upon wages until they noticed that someone else earned the same amount, while performing less work nonetheless. Most theologians would argue this scripture is not about money at all, but rather the notion that hard work and good deeds alone does not place one if front of another in the kingdom of Heaven. While I agree with the interpretation, I have always found it interesting that Jesus used this to communicate his point. Clearly, it is something that spoke to his followers then and still does today….wealth envy. It’s a powerful thing. “Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money?” Wow. For the record, I have every reason to believe the big, evil, Denarius holding land owner verified every workers citizenship prior to hiring them. Yeah....you knew THAT was coming!

Well, the state of Arizona has taken it upon them to do what the Federal Government has not. The Feds will flex their muscles and try to declare the Arizona law unconstitutional. The Liberal media will compare it to the state of Mississippi during the Civil Rights Movement.
I have heard it asked from Liberals, “What would Jesus do?” (I had fun pronouncing it “Heh Soos” while I wrote this). They often ask this question to a conservative who is a Christian and is, in their opinion, behaving in a mean spirited way. While the inquisitive Liberal may not know a darn thing about Jesus, this is their way of sticking it to the conservative Christian. Clearly, it is an attempt to paint the conservative right as a bunch of two faced hypocrites. Hurting the environment? What would Jesus do? Protesting unfair taxation? What would Jesus do? Against mandatory wealth redistribution? What would Jesus do? The fact is that no one knows exactly what Jesus would do. Since many Liberals would rather read Karl Marx’ Communist Manifesto than they would the Holy Bible, I doubt they will ever know the answer. My favorite interview has been with Catholic Priest in Arizona who seems to know what Jesus would do and he apparently would not send Illegal Aliens back to their homeland. Oh, by the way….92% of this guy’s congregation is Hispanic and presumably not all of them are in our country legally. I know I am going to catch hell from my Catholic friends on this one, but here goes. I really do not think the Catholic Church is in the position to be preaching about human rights at the moment!
So let me get this straight. The Federal Government is refusing to act upon their constitutional duty to protect our borders. Now, the Obama administration is attacking the local authorities in Arizona for doing it on their own. Is the current administration intentionally trying to overrun our country with illegal aliens? Maybe Acorn can get them to be registered voters under familiar names from the NFL. Oopss….sorry, they already did pulled that one. To be fair, the Bush Administration did little to stop illegal immigration. They did start building a fence, which the Obama administration has halted. Maybe the Obama administration can put the illegals to work painting the partially completed fence (Just our side of course - We don’t care about the other side). Oh, and before the e-mails start, I know it is a fence and not a wall so there is really nothing to paint. That is sarcasm.
Let me say this; I do not blame illegal aliens one bit for wanting to be in this country (although I think they are starting to rethink it). So, what would “Heh Soos” do? Perhaps he would feed 5,000 of the hungry Illegal aliens with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. There is no evidence he would sit around and wait for the government to come to the rescue. There is also no evidence that he would advocate mandating that everyone with income surrender a portion of their possessions to the government to be redistributed to the needy crowd.

A 12 year old girl in Saudi Arabia was forced to marry an 80 year old man against her will. The marriage was reportedly sealed with a dowry of 85,000 riyals ($22,350) and consummated. Now, the Saudi court says she can pursue a divorce. Incidentally, I had to find this in a London paper. No reputable news outlet in America covered it besides FoxNews. Yes, we are sooooo concerned about oppression and abuse of children around the world…except when they are Muslim. That would be poking our nose where it doesn’t belong. Right? So American human rights groups won’t let you buy sneakers made overseas by a 12 year old (when a profit is involved), but they won’t do anything to a religious culture that condones, promotes, and embraces the rape of a little girl. The CEO for Acorn recently spoke to the Young Democratic Socialists. I was not aware there was such a group, but I am not surprised. Here is a film clip of Congressman Hank Johnson from Georgia asking questions to Naval Admiral Willard, who is the Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet. The Admiral was appearing in front of the House Armed Services Committee to bring more troops to Guam and the Congressman was asking him questions. This was largely dismissed by the liberal media, but to be a little fair, many thought it so incredibly outlandish that some folks suspected it was an April fool’s joke. Wow! A Firing Squad?
Lot's of irony here. A man who shot a Utah attorney 25 years ago in a prison escape, now faces a firing squad if he chooses. Amnesty International says it is cruel and unusual punishment and that the man he killed would not want the death penalty. The man he killed left the Vietnam War and vowed to never use a weapon again, but gave time to defend murderers. I suppose it is common for defense attorney’s to oppose the death penalty (you can’t win them all), but I have never heard a dead one oppose it.

Today is Good Friday....Not Gay Friday
Uproar over a college play in Texas depicting a gay JesusThis was an eye opener for me. I never realized there was a “Gay Jesus” movement out there, but it’s true. In researching this topic, I stumbled across a web world of folks promoting the idea of a gay Jesus. I guess as a Christian, I am supposed to be outraged, upset, blah blah blah. It probably will not surprise you to learn that most of the people involved in the gay Jesus movement are….well….gay. Oddly enough, I am somewhat amused by the gay Jesus crowd. I am familiar with White Jesus, Black Jesus, and Hispanic Jesus. I suppose many of us, myself included, are guilty of trying to make Jesus like us, as opposed to the other way around. Hey, why stop with gay Jesus? We should include everyone in the “make Jesus like me” movement. We could have a wheelchair Jesus. How about a mentally challenged Jesus? I got it…..let’s have an unemployed Jesus! In all seriousness, can you imagine what the Muslims would be doing if these college kids launched a play depicting a gay Mohammed? They would have to join that Mohammed cartoon artist, whom I believe is still in hiding along with Salman Rushdie. In fact, I am probably not too safe even suggesting a gay Mohammad play, even as a joke. Of course, Jacksonville’s very own Rev. Jerry Vines made national news after 9/11 by referring to Mohammed as a “Demon possessed pedophile.” I am not sure if I want to mess with a demon possessed pedophile, and I’m not even Catholic. How many different pieces of exercise equipment are lying dormant in homes across America? They all have very attractive warranties because the vendor knew we wouldn't use it enough to break it. What about the weight loss programs where you buy their food? There is no magic pixie dust in the food. It is discipline packaged in a small proportioned box. Is this corporate responsibility?
By the way, this is the same group of tree hugging wackos that want to outlaw plastic water bottles and replace them with water filters on our taps at home. Have you ever sat through a water filter sales pitch? Yeah, now that's some corporate responsibility! This is a group that is promoting militant environmentalism, while trying to destroy capitalism at the same time. Yeah, there is a big difference between "not for profit" and "anti-profit."

A recent Federal investigation found that the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy, who jointly manage the Energy Star Program, granted Energy Star certifications to bogus products that were anything but energy efficient. Among the certified products was a gasoline powered alarm clock and a "air cleaner", which was produced by attaching a feather duster and fly paper to a space heater (pictured here). Somehow, other blog sites have picked up my posting of the rumored quote from Benjamin Franklin, “When people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic.” As a result, I receive comments from unknown sources about this particular posting all the time. Although the mainstream media would have us believe that conservatives have cornered the market on anger, most of the comments I receive are liberal aligned rants spewing ignorance and hatred from the left. I received a comment the other day that I have to share because it so clearly illustrates the ridiculous arguments from the left. Let’s face it, this is why liberals cannot get a foothold in talk radio or on heads up television. The simple truth is that liberal logic is….well….that is an oxymoron in itself. Liberals have to disguise their message as movies, music, poetry, or news. Any other way just doesn’t work. Unfortunately, these are some of the most powerful outlets in our country. At any rate, here is the feedback along with my commentary:

For starters, while your cute little two tax payer scenario is mathematically correct, it stops there. This scenario is not even close to our federal system of income taxation. In short, even aside from your ridiculous two tax payer example, it assumes no progressive tax. If you do not understand our current progressive tax system (the 2nd point in Karl Marx’ 10 planks of Communism incidentally), you really should seek to understand. Perhaps you have never earned your way through the first tax bracket (notice that I didn’t say “bottom”…man, I am getting way too nice), or maybe you suffer from Wealth Envy, which is not covered under Obama care. Good Day Comrade!
Greetings Comrades; It’s time we start using the right lingo
Well, I haven’t talked much about the Federal Government hijacking our health care. I cannot think of anything that has not been said a million times. Just understand this is not about “better” health care or providing health care to those who do not have it. It is about government control and wealth redistribution. There is not a single thing in this country the government has run better than the private sector….ever! Anything the Federal Government has ever set out to “fix” has resulted in failure and at a cost many times the original estimate to boot. Many Americans are too complacent, apathetic, and downright ignorant to realize we have just taken the final step on the path toward Socialism. One day, they will realize the magnitude of this government take over and they won’t be able to blame George Bush.
Let’s do some simple logic.
Q: Why has health care become such a hot topic in a country with the best health care in the world?
A: Because the cost of health care continues to rise disproportionately to our income.
Q: Why has the cost of health care risen disproportionately to our income?
A: There are several reasons for this. Our health care has unmistakably become more advanced through the years. Open heart surgery is a routine surgery today (unless it is your heart), whereas years ago you were just sent home to die. While the cost of a funeral rivals that of open heart surgery, it is a onetime cost that we all must pay at some point regardless of when we die. Knowing that we all must pay for a funeral at some point, open heart surgery is an added expense, which did not previously exist in our health care “system.” The same illustration can be drawn for countless medical procedures today. One could argue that better care in a more advanced world simply cost more than before. The capitalist in me says that the laws of supply and demand forces these prices back down, but they sure seem to get sticky on the way down. Our automobiles are way more technologically advanced than years ago. As a result, it cost way more to maintain them when they break. I don’t recall my parents ever mentioning we had to buckle down this month because the Impala needed a new motherboard.
The second reason health care cost have risen dramatically is on the back of your phone book (unless you ordered the CD version this year). Trial lawyers! This actually has two important facets that has been the primary driver of rising healthcare costs. Plain and simple….malpractice insurance. The average Doctor pays anywhere from $70,000 to $150,000 per year for medical malpractice insurance. Unfortunately, the average American thinks that Doctors are filthy rich and can pay for this as easily as the Federal Government pays for…well...anything. Since the average American suffers from Wealth Envy, an infliction in which we have not yet developed a cure, this does not bother them. The other very important impact from all of this (with the help of the lawyers) is the practice of defensive medicine. Some have estimated that hundreds of billions of dollars are needlessly spent every year due to the defensive posture on the part of Doctors to order a full scale battery of tests, even though they are very confident the patient is fine without them. Why? Lawsuits. Plain and simple.
Most people under 60 do not know that their parents actually paid for all routine health care. The Doctor came to the home and performed a service and mailed a bill later to be paid. Insurance was only for significant unplanned illnesses such as a surgery or lengthy treatment. During the 1930’s and 1940’s, Insurance companies began to emerge by offering plan members better rates because they negotiated lower rates with the care providers in exchange for exclusive agreements to steer business in their direction. All of this, combined with guaranteed and prompt payment, made for a beautiful relationship between insurance companies and health care providers. Keep in mind patients still paid their own way, but at a negotiated rate (sort of like Costco, Sam’s, or B.J.’s). They were still insured, however, only for serious costly illness requiring very large expenditures. Then, some wise businessman (just men in those days ladies….I can’t even make an effort to be PC right here), came up with the idea that they could offer a health insurance plan as a benefit to employees at a time when the Federal Government had frozen all wage increases. This, in effect, provided a non-taxable raise to employees. Interestingly, this was a maneuver concocted by none other than Unions!
The Community Organizer turned President would have you believe that evil insurance companies are to blame for rising health care costs. Take a guess at the average profit margin for the health insurance industry in the most recent Fortune 500 report? 18%? Maybe even 20%? Nope. Try 2.2%. By comparison, the Pharmaceutical industry averaged 19.3% and the Medical Products/Equipment industry averaged 16.3%. Of course, it is hard to demonize a company that produces heart catheters or pills, but everyone hates dealing with insurance companies.

So the embattled and former head of the research center, Phil Jones that was at ground zero of the Climate-gate scandal has admitted there has been no global warming in the last 15 years. Did the liberal mainstream media report on this? Nope. By the way – if you haven’t noticed, I try to post links from the typical liberal media outlets. It takes away the liberal argument of bias (isn’t that calling the kettle…well, you get the idea). You would think that they would at least make an effort to report the interview and spin it in their typical liberal fashion. Unfortunately for them, there is no pro-global warming spin you can place on this story. Jones even left open the notion that the earth could have been warmer in mid-evil times. All I can say is…DUDE! That completely destroys any notion that global warming is manmade. Like I have said before…there is no global warming. Even if I concede there is global warming, there is zero evidence to suggest it is manmade.
I know that some of you who are reading this drank the global warming juice a long time ago. Maybe you trust Al Gore (which is why you voted for him). Perhaps you feel that God has entrusted this precious plant to our care and we need to do our part. I certainly agree with you on the later, but not the former. I am not sure if Al Gore believes in global warming as much as he believes he invented the internet, or if he is just plain crazy. If you haven’t noticed, he has all but been in hiding since the climate gate story broke. He will be back out soon….angry and crazy as ever. And to think he was a few hundred dangling chads and one loyal brother away from being our president.

If your child performs sufficiently well on a special test to be considered gifted in Clay County, Florida, you had better be poor if you want him or her to be accepted to the gifted program. It seems as though children with lower test scores are given preferential entry into the gifted program if they are “less fortunate.” This isn’t even a case of “tie goes to the poor kid.” It is actually a sliding scale based upon income. It may soon be illegal to give that homeless guy a sandwich in Miami. Pointing to litter in the street, city officials want to require good Samaritans to get a license before feeding the homeless. If you have been into the city of Miami lately, you would agree that litter from the homeless is the least of their worries. The local homeless shelters agree with the city that those who feed the homeless may not have proper food handling techniques. Okay…now the light is going on! This is not about litter folks; it is about controlling people’s lives, which is what government loves to do. Wouldn’t you think the local homeless shelters would applaud such generosity to their clients? Not when it is competition. This hurts their numbers. Lower numbers mean less funding and local support. What would the employees of the homeless shelter do if they actually stamped out homelessness? They wouldn’t have a job. The message is the same as always from government; get involved but don’t get crazy with it. This is why it is a fact that Liberals give less to charitable causes than conservatives. They expect the government to do it and so they can shirk their moral responsibility.

Well, I haven’t talked much about the Federal Government hijacking our health care. I cannot think of anything that has not been said a million times. Just understand this is not about “better” health care or providing health care to those who do not have it. It is about government control and wealth redistribution. There is not a single thing in this country the government has run better than the private sector….ever! Anything the Federal Government has ever set out to “fix” has resulted in failure and at a cost many times the original estimate to boot. Many Americans are too complacent, apathetic, and downright ignorant to realize we have just taken the final step on the path toward Socialism. One day, they will realize the magnitude of this government take over and they won’t be able to blame George Bush.
Let’s do some simple logic.
Q: Why has health care become such a hot topic in a country with the best health care in the world?
A: Because the cost of health care continues to rise disproportionately to our income.
Q: Why has the cost of health care risen disproportionately to our income?
A: There are several reasons for this. Our health care has unmistakably become more advanced through the years. Open heart surgery is a routine surgery today (unless it is your heart), whereas years ago you were just sent home to die. While the cost of a funeral rivals that of open heart surgery, it is a onetime cost that we all must pay at some point regardless of when we die. Knowing that we all must pay for a funeral at some point, open heart surgery is an added expense, which did not previously exist in our health care “system.” The same illustration can be drawn for countless medical procedures today. One could argue that better care in a more advanced world simply cost more than before. The capitalist in me says that the laws of supply and demand forces these prices back down, but they sure seem to get sticky on the way down. Our automobiles are way more technologically advanced than years ago. As a result, it cost way more to maintain them when they break. I don’t recall my parents ever mentioning we had to buckle down this month because the Impala needed a new motherboard.
The second reason health care cost have risen dramatically is on the back of your phone book (unless you ordered the CD version this year). Trial lawyers! This actually has two important facets that has been the primary driver of rising healthcare costs. Plain and simple….malpractice insurance. The average Doctor pays anywhere from $70,000 to $150,000 per year for medical malpractice insurance. Unfortunately, the average American thinks that Doctors are filthy rich and can pay for this as easily as the Federal Government pays for…well...anything. Since the average American suffers from Wealth Envy, an infliction in which we have not yet developed a cure, this does not bother them. The other very important impact from all of this (with the help of the lawyers) is the practice of defensive medicine. Some have estimated that hundreds of billions of dollars are needlessly spent every year due to the defensive posture on the part of Doctors to order a full scale battery of tests, even though they are very confident the patient is fine without them. Why? Lawsuits. Plain and simple.
Most people under 60 do not know that their parents actually paid for all routine health care. The Doctor came to the home and performed a service and mailed a bill later to be paid. Insurance was only for significant unplanned illnesses such as a surgery or lengthy treatment. During the 1930’s and 1940’s, Insurance companies began to emerge by offering plan members better rates because they negotiated lower rates with the care providers in exchange for exclusive agreements to steer business in their direction. All of this, combined with guaranteed and prompt payment, made for a beautiful relationship between insurance companies and health care providers. Keep in mind patients still paid their own way, but at a negotiated rate (sort of like Costco, Sam’s, or B.J.’s). They were still insured, however, only for serious costly illness requiring very large expenditures. Then, some wise businessman (just men in those days ladies….I can’t even make an effort to be PC right here), came up with the idea that they could offer a health insurance plan as a benefit to employees at a time when the Federal Government had frozen all wage increases. This, in effect, provided a non-taxable raise to employees. Interestingly, this was a maneuver concocted by none other than Unions!
The Community Organizer turned President would have you believe that evil insurance companies are to blame for rising health care costs. Take a guess at the average profit margin for the health insurance industry in the most recent Fortune 500 report? 18%? Maybe even 20%? Nope. Try 2.2%. By comparison, the Pharmaceutical industry averaged 19.3% and the Medical Products/Equipment industry averaged 16.3%. Of course, it is hard to demonize a company that produces heart catheters or pills, but everyone hates dealing with insurance companies.

Wow. Such a huge step forward for Muslim women in the world of human rights. Not only does Saudi Arabia now allow female lawyers to step inside a courtroom, they are now permitted to actually argue a case in court. Talk about your progressive Muslim countries. So the embattled and former head of the research center, Phil Jones that was at ground zero of the Climate-gate scandal has admitted there has been no global warming in the last 15 years. Did the liberal mainstream media report on this? Nope. By the way – if you haven’t noticed, I try to post links from the typical liberal media outlets. It takes away the liberal argument of bias (isn’t that calling the kettle…well, you get the idea). You would think that they would at least make an effort to report the interview and spin it in their typical liberal fashion. Unfortunately for them, there is no pro-global warming spin you can place on this story. Jones even left open the notion that the earth could have been warmer in mid-evil times. All I can say is…DUDE! That completely destroys any notion that global warming is manmade. Like I have said before…there is no global warming. Even if I concede there is global warming, there is zero evidence to suggest it is manmade.
I know that some of you who are reading this drank the global warming juice a long time ago. Maybe you trust Al Gore (which is why you voted for him). Perhaps you feel that God has entrusted this precious plant to our care and we need to do our part. I certainly agree with you on the later, but not the former. I am not sure if Al Gore believes in global warming as much as he believes he invented the internet, or if he is just plain crazy. If you haven’t noticed, he has all but been in hiding since the climate gate story broke. He will be back out soon….angry and crazy as ever. Yet Another Way to Punish Wealth
If your child performs sufficiently well on a special test to be considered gifted in Clay County, Florida, you had better be poor if you want him or her to be accepted to the gifted program. It seems as though children with lower test scores are given preferential entry into the gifted program if they are “less fortunate.” This isn’t even a case of “tie goes to the poor kid.” It is actually a sliding scale based upon income. The higher the family income, the higher the kid must score to be accepted. It is sort of like Affirmative Action, except it’s based on income and not race. It may soon be illegal to give that homeless guy a sandwich in Miami. Pointing to litter in the street, city officials want to require good Samaritans to get a license before feeding the homeless. If you have been into the city of Miami lately, you would agree that litter from the homeless is the least of their worries. The local homeless shelters agree with the city that those who feed the homeless may not have proper food handling techniques. Okay…now the light is going on! This is not about litter folks; it is about controlling people’s lives, which is what government loves to do. Wouldn’t you think the local homeless shelters would applaud such generosity to their clients? Not when it is competition. This hurts their numbers. Lower numbers mean less funding and local support. What would the employees of the homeless shelter do if they actually stamped out homelessness? They wouldn’t have a job. The message is the same as always from government; get involved but don’t get crazy with it. This is why it is a fact that Liberals give less to charitable causes than conservatives. They expect the government to do it and so they can shirk their moral responsibility.

So Much Ignorance...So Little Time
The polls are slipping for the Chosen One. I must admit that I would probably enjoy it if it were not for the irrevocable damage that is being inflicted upon our country. After his first year in office, the President’s approval rating in the Gallup Poll is 47%, the lowest first year rating of any American President since the measure began. To be fair, the President had a close competitor for that low of the low at 49% after his first year in office. Care to guess who it is? Okay, you won’t get it right so I will tell you. It was Ronald Reagan. Do you think they will finish the same? I highly doubt it.

I am trying to figure out if Obama believes the $700 Billion TARP funds were to bailout the big, bad, evil banks, or if it was to clean up their mistakes from which the "American people are still suffering." Now, if you are one of those American’s who still have an Obama bumper sticker on your car (razor blades work nicely), or perhaps you are a Grandmother (a typical white woman) who still believes in your grandson no matter how rotten he has become, please help me understand why the liberal media will not call BS on this guy? Now to be fair, as the polls continue to slip on the Chosen One, the liberal media seems to be running shorter on stories of Obama miracles. Of course, there is still a chance he will walk across the Atlantic on the way to his next apology tour.
December 4th, 2008 - "Part of what our message to the banks is, the taxpayers were there for you to clean up your mistakes," Obama said. "You now have a responsibility to be there for the community now that we're bearing the brunt of a lot of these problems that you caused."
On December 8th, Obama stated that the $700 billion bank-bailout fund, or TARP, was "launched hastily under the last administration" and was "flawed." (If you still have that Obama bumper sticker, you probably do not even remember or know that he voted for the bailout as senator in October 2008).
On December 13th, the eve before he was set to meet with top bank executives, 60 Minutes aired an interview with Obama. In the interview, he appeared a little frustrated and said, "I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street."
Then on December 14th, he said, "America's banks received extraordinary assistance from American taxpayers to rebuild their industry and now that they're back on their feet we expect an extraordinary commitment from them to help rebuild our economy.”
Are you confused? Yup…me too. So, when he voted for it, was he helping the Fat Cat Bankers or was he helping the American people? By the way, don’t get this confused with the bailout of GM to help support the voters…I mean the Unions (I hate it when I slip like that). And so now Obama is pressing the banks to make loans to people (small businesses) with questionable financial stability. Sound familiar? Something similar started in the 70’s under the Carter Administration and later greatly expanded under the Clinton Administration. It is called the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) and was the springboard which eventually culminated in a glut of bad loans in the market place. Yes…I know…greed, greed, greed…..blah blah blah. All societies have greed. They have it in Socialist countries too. The only difference is the people in the Socialist countries are trying to figure out how they can greed their way to getting an extra ration of toilet paper rather than a few extra million dollars. Which greedy place would you rather live? If you are reading this then you have made your choice.
Healthcare “reform.” Puke. Okay, let’s “reform” the most effective and technologically advanced healthcare in the entire world. Hey, maybe he and Jimmy Carter have been eating from the same cookware (a little “lead pot theory” joke for you history buffs). Senator Reid has compared the Republicans who oppose health care “reform” to those who attempted to stop the Civil Rights Act and the Equal Rights Amendment. Ummmm…it seems to me that Senator Strom Thurmond, who at the time was a Democrat, led the charge to filibuster the Civil Rights Act. In any case, this is the same old worn out liberal tactic. If you oppose us, you are a racist, bigot, sexist, etc. This is absolutely pathetic folks. There is also a major point that many folks are missing in Reid’s statement. He is also drawing the distinction that Health Care is a basic human right. The only problem is that the Government does not grant human rights. The government protects them under the constitution. Does the Government grant to you your freedom? No, the Government protects your freedom…..or at least it is supposed to protect it. This is not the first time, but it is just so blatantly obvious that I have to laugh. In his speech to the Copenhagen climate change summit, Mr. Gore proclaimed that “These figures are fresh. Some of the models suggest to Dr. Maslowski that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during the summer months, could be completely ice-free within five to seven years.” Even most of the Global Warming Scientist will admit that Dr. Maslowski is on the outer fringe of the global warming wackos. Dr. Maslowski, who is a complete nut job himself, was baffled by Al Gore’s comments. He replied, “...I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this,” he said. “It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at, based on the information I provided to Al Gore’s office.” And to think this guy came within a few dangling chads of being our President.

Our Commander in Chief has rendered a decision that will prove to be a major setback in our war on terrorism (by the way, did you know that we are not supposed to call it the “war on terror anymore?” Listen to the President when he talks about it….he won’t use the term and neither will his administration).
Bringing people to justice. What does it mean? Many of us have different views of justice ranging from a fair trial and possible acquittal, to a public execution without a trial of any kind. Opinions run the gamut depending upon an individual’s proximity either physically or emotionally to the events of 9/11. I think we would be hard pressed to find many family members of victims of 9/11 who would be in favor of a criminal trial for alleged mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Did you catch that? I just referred to his despicable actions as “alleged.” Pay attention folks. As the liberal media works overtime to salvage the presidency of the Messiah, they will begin to lay the ground work for a possible acquittal. They will begin to attack the evidence and eventually question whether or not Mohammed truly is the mastermind behind the attacks. At the end of the blame game will be George 43 and Dick Cheney.

Kanye West is a Racist and Jimmy Carter is a Jackass

In case you missed it, former President and current worst President in American history Jimmy Carter commented that an “overwhelming portion” of criticism towards President Obama is based on race. The Liberals cannot help but throw down a race card every chance they get. The Black Caucus has followed suit (sometimes I forget we have a Black Caucus, but the liberals keep reminding me we have a black President. Otherwise, I wouldn’t think about it….which burns them up). I suppose Liberals cannot stand the fact that Congressman Wilson has become an overnight hero to the right. His campaign contributions have skyrocketed and people are driving around with “You Lie” bumper stickers. Dowd fails to bring up in her article that the Democrats booed George W. Bush during his 2005 State of the Union Address. At the time, even Ted Koppel called it unprecedented. I really do not see how so many ignorant Americans can continue to go on believing that the federal government gives tax breaks to the wealthy. And yet, this is the popular belief among many Americans. The latest 2007 figures from the IRS were published about a month or so ago (yes, it takes them that long to crunch the numbers…after all, we are talking about the federal government here). Here are the facts and I didn’t get them from FOX News.
The top 1% of taxpayers officially paid 40.4% of total federal income taxes collected (the greatest imbalance in the history of America). Moreover, people in this top 1% only earned 22.8% of taxable income. Does that sound “fair?” Just to put it in perspective, when I graduated high school in 1987, the top 1% paid 24.8% of taxes collected. You may think that only the likes of Oprah Winfrey fall into this top 1%. Well, think again. You only have to earn $410,000 a year to be in this top 1%. Yes, certainly a lot of money, but not even close to Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, or Al Gore. Remember that a large percentage of this top 1% are small business owners offering no distinction between adjusted gross income and business income.
In summary, the top 1% carries more of the load than the bottom 95%. In spite of these facts, the liberals will continue to demonize the wealthy and raise their taxes so that everyone pays their “fair share.” Absolutely mindboggling.
It’s time for me to pick on the Muslims for a while. I am fully aware that not all Muslims are Terrorists. On the other hand, all Terrorists are Muslims.
The peaceful, loving, caring religion of Islam will issue 40 lashes to this woman in Sudan for wearing pants in public, which is strictly forbidden under Islamic law. I must admit, those ankle covering pants get in the way of using the foot baths we have been installing in American airports. Maybe President Obama can get her off the hook by apologizing for American arrogance and then hold a beer summit. It's Independence Day!
Since the rest of the world has been doing nothing but paying attention to the life and death of one Michael Jackson, I figured I would bring everyone up to speed on the things that actually impact our lives (let the hate mail begin).
Saturday is Independence Day, which we celebrate on July the 4th. As much as I love and appreciate the military protecting our freedom, please remember exactly what we are celebrating. Save all of those e-mails about our bold and courageous soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq with little American Flag icons for the rest of the year. This is NOT Veterans Day nor is it Memorial Day (by the way Memorial Day is not to honor all of those who have served, but who DIED serving our country). July 4th is the day we declared our Independence from the tyranny of the King by signing the Declaration of Independence. Honorable defectors like Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson risked hanging for treason to escape unfair taxation, trade restrictions, hey…this is starting to sound a little familiar. Anyway, I love our military, but please honor all of those who have served and died serving by not displaying blatant ignorance to our national holidays. It is absolutely embarrassing that school kids are taught to memorize Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream,” (albeit a great worthwhile history lesson) but have no clue about the Declaration of Independence, its significance or when it was signed. I suppose the Average American ignoramus doesn’t know either for that matter. Go ahead and read it. Folks, Socialism is just around the corner. Don’t think so? It seems as though many Americans wouldn’t mind Socialism. A recent Rasmussen poll found that only 53 percent of Americans believe capitalism is better than socialism. I am not sure if this is comforting, but I am willing to bet that many of the ignorant survey participants thought that socialism was hanging out with your pals and having some cocktails. North Korea says that the U.S. is preparing for a preemptive nuclear strike. Of course, any nuclear arms they produce from this point forward will be for self defense…right? Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has advised the U.S. to stay out of their recent political unrest after President Obama expressed “deep concern” about the situation. Wow….”deep concern.” It sure doesn’t get any stronger than that folks! Then he followed Hillary Clinton’s counsel and expressed that he was “appalled and outraged.” Okay, that is a little better. I am certainly not suggesting that we do anything about Iran’s unrest. I just found it humorous. I wonder if the next President will apologize for all of this harsh language.

Cap and Trade – I don’t even know where to start on this one, but it is the biggest boondoggle since the invention of federal income withholding. This is being billed as an energy policy, but it is nothing more than a capitalism crusher. I heard President Obama refer to this the other day as a “jobs bill.” Are you kidding me? It is too bad no one could figure out a way for alternative energy to financially pass muster. So now the government will make it so unaffordable to use traditional energy sources that people will have no choice but to use expensive alternative energy.
Get ready folks. President Obama and the Socialist Congress of the United States of America are coming after employer provided health insurance. The average ignoramus American will think the government is taxing the businesses so it doesn’t have an impact on them. So sad. By the way, don’t think for a minute they are not trying to take out the “competition.” Don’t sign up for those nasty employer provided benefits, the government plan is way better!

Federal Appeals Judge Sotomayor just had one of her recent opinions overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. Does the name sound familiar? Yep, that’s her. It seems as though she just can’t put herself in the shoes of those Gringos who were discriminated against after scoring the highest on the test for a Firefighter promotion. The good news here is (unlike Judge Sotomayor) we don’t have to listen about their difficult upbringing and how hard they had to fight to reach their station in life. Ha…”station”….I crack myself up.

The Anti gun crowd is up in arms out in Arizona after the state legislature progressed on a bill that would allow law bidding gun owners with a carry permit to pack their heat in a bar. One provision would allow the establishment to post a sign prohibiting anyone from entering with a firearm (even concealed). You know, it seems to me that if I were a criminal, I would go around looking for those signs so I could rob some place where I knew I wouldn’t get shot…but that’s just me.

Honest Abe; A Bigger Hero with Each Passing Year
For those of you who may not have thought about it yesterday, not only was it Easter, it was also the anniversary of the first shot fired in the only “civil war” in the history of the United States of America. On April 12, 1861, the Confederate States of America attacked Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina after the command at the federally occupied facility refused to hand the fort over to the newly established Confederate government. Since so much about The War Between the States (aka Civil War) is misreported, misunderstood, and twisted more and more each year in American society, I figured it would be a grand opportunity to list some facts that most Americans were not taught in Government schools.
This war should have never been called a “civil” war. A civil war is when two different groups are fighting for control of the same government. In this case, the southern states simply seceded from the Union of states, leaving the former government intact. Since terms like “The War for Southern Independence” and “The War of Northern Aggression” are sure to attract looks of perplexity, I figure that “The War Between the States” is sufficiently accurate and acceptable.
When President Lincoln took the oath of office on March 4th, 1861, he repeated these words that he had previously spoken several times in other speeches; “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the States where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.” It is public record folks…go find it. (As a side note, this was also the same year that Congress passed the very first federal income tax in the history of our nation so they could finance The War Between the States…….way to go Abe!!!)
In June 1861, despite their acceptance of slavery, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri did not join the Confederacy and remained in the Union….along with their slaves.
On January 27th, 1862, Lincoln ordered an aggressive attack on the Confederacy. General McClellan ignored the order. He was removed from command 2 months later.
Over the next year was The Battle of Shiloh, Union occupation of New Orleans, battles at Yorktown and Williamsburg, Stonewall Jackson’s victory in Shenandoah Valley, The Battle of Seven Pines, The Seven Days’ Battles, battles at Harper’s Ferry, Antietam, and Fredericksburg (just to hit some high points).
On January 1st, 1863, President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
What, you say?? President Lincoln freed the slaves a full year and nine months after the first shot was fired in The War Between the States??? Well, that just doesn’t make sense because The War Between the States was about slavery, right? But, why didn’t Lincoln free the slaves when he took office? Oh yeah, I almost forgot; he stated then that he had no intention to interfere with the “institution of slavery” (geez, he even recognized it as an “institution” rather than an immoral act). Could it be that “Honest Abe” wasn’t so honest after all? I mean, he didn’t have a beef with the four slave states that belonged to the Union. Hey, let’s not forget that he didn’t free ALL slaves anyway. The Emancipation Proclamation only declared that all slaves in areas still in the rebellion were, in the eyes of the federal government, free. In fact, earlier in 1861, Congress had passed an act stating that all slaves employed against the Union were to be considered free. In 1862, another act stated that all slaves of men who supported the Confederacy were to be considered free.
Here’s the deal folks. Slavery is arguably the most ghastly and embarrassing part of the history of a country that lays claim to a remarkable track record of human rights. Of course, the Federal Government’s extermination of hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of Native Americans could come close, right? Well, that just doesn’t make sense because The War Between the States was about slavery, right? But, why didn’t Lincoln free the slaves when he took office? Oh yeah, I almost forgot; he stated then that he had no intention to interfere with the “institution of slavery” (geez, he even recognized it as an “institution” rather than an immoral act). Could it be that “Honest Abe” wasn’t so honest after all? I mean, he didn’t have a beef with the four slave states that belonged to the Union. Hey, let’s not forget that he didn’t free ALL slaves anyway. The Emancipation Proclamation only declared that all slaves in areas still in the rebellion were, in the eyes of the federal government, free. In fact, earlier in 1861, Congress had passed an act stating that all slaves employed against the Union were to be considered free. In 1862, another act stated that all slaves of men who supported the Confederacy were to be considered free.
Here’s the deal folks. Slavery is arguably the most ghastly and embarrassing part of the history of a country that lays claim to a remarkable track record of human rights. Of course, the Federal Government’s extermination of hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) of Native Americans could come close, right? Nothing says “I’m Sorry” like casinos, duty free liquor and cigarettes. Unfortunately, the Union states did not give a rip about slavery until Lincoln determined it was how the Federal Government would end the rebellion. He freed the slaves in the South and created a war of morality that would be remembered in the history books as such. He was a smart man; you have to hand it to him. One is left to wonder how he really felt about slavery despite many of his published memoirs. All of these years later, he is considered to be a pillar of human rights. And yet, he really doesn’t deserve the title.

Folks, the North Korean missile test is a BIG DEAL (don’t confuse this with the New Deal…that will be later in Obama’s Presidency) and America is more interested in the songs that the President loaded onto an IPod before giving it to the Queen…or the fact that the First Lady actually touched the Queen and did not curtsey…GASP!!! (oh, puke…that kind of junk, along with taxes is the reason we fought those folks for our independence. Yeah, I know…it is a matter of respect; take note Aretha Franklin).
President Obama calls North Korea’s missile launch a “provocative action.” Do ya think? Don’t worry North Korea; our president does not have the onions to do anything about it. Oooohh Dang. I bet North Korea will just hang their head in shame for what they have done. Now they will be in trouble with the U.N. Rarely will you hear anyone talk about the fact that by allowing U.N. weapons inspectors unfettered access to those cute little baby formula factories, Saddam Hussein could have avoided the war altogether! This is because there were no weapons of mass destruction…right all you liberals? Yep, instead, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney had to produce all of those bogus photos of mobile chemical labs as evidence to launch an unjust war for oil…right? Folks, all Iraq had to do is open the door for the U.N. weapons inspectors and Saddam might still be in power today wearing his beret in those film clips with everyone kissing his butt for fear they will be executed. My point is this: the United Nations did not lift a finger when Saddam Hussein did not allow weapons inspections and they will not do a thing to North Korea for launching a test missile. Go ahead and meet with everyone Mr. President, but if anyone is going to do a thing about it, it will have to be YOU! Truthfully, I have always thought that President Obama is arrogant. I just don’t think he has any onions.

There is a new law in the peaceful, loving, Muslim country of Afghanistan that allows a husband to legally rape his wife. And to think the United States is responsible for creating an environment where the women are now permitted to show those sexy ankles. "As long as the husband is not traveling, he has the right to have sexual intercourse with his wife every fourth night," Article 132 of the law says. In the last week or so, there has been an uptick in high profile shootings where someone has lost a job or suffered financial hardship during our 8%-9% unemployment. Aside from the fact that these things did not happen when unemployment was 25% during the Great Depression, or even in 1981 when unemployment was just shy of 10%, the Liberals will use these shootings as evidence that the time is now to further attack the 2nd Amendment.
Question: when was the last time you heard of a gunman attacking a police station, gun shop, or NRA meeting? Why do you think these nut jobs attack Churches, Schools, Hospitals, job sites, etc.? Because they know that no one there will be armed and able to shoot back before they take a lot of lives.

Are You Worn Out on the AIG Bonus Issue?
Evil Executive Bonuses from Tax Payer Money
Is it me, or is it hard to get overly passionate about the AIG Executive bonuses? Maybe it is because it is no surprise. No surprise that those big, bad, evil, greedy, executives ran a company into the ground and then padded their wallets with taxpayer money…you ask? Nope…that’s not it at all. It is no surprise that the Federal Government made a rookie error in their foray into the bank acquisition business. Understanding outstanding and forward looking contractual commitments is acquisition 101 folks. At first, I figured it was typical Federal Government incompetence. I mean, how many of these buffoons have ever run a business? We now know that it was typical Washington bureaucratic wheeling and dealing that added the language to the bailout bill that specifically allowed the bonuses in the first place. No mistake…it was intentional. By the way, let’s not forget that some of this bonus money was also paid out to front line employees like “Joe” the Customer Service Rep (I just made him up, but he doesn’t look or sound anything like Joe the Plumber). Too bad he is employed overseas and I can’t understand a darn word he is saying. If we passed the Fair Tax and trashed our ridiculous and unfair progressive income tax, maybe American overseas investments will come back home.
In addition to all of the other “no surprise” issues in the AIG debacle is the revelation of Washington Liberals admitting that taxes are not a means of revenue, but none other than punishment. "Recipients of these bonuses will not be able to keep all of their money," declared Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in a threat delivered on the Senate floor. "If you don't return it on your own, we will do it for you," echoed Chuck Schumer of New York. Bham!!! There you have it folks. In your face admission that taxes are weapons, not revenue. Oh, I know…conservatives have been cranking out sin taxes for years so they are not immune. Oh, I was also very impressed in which the speed that Senator Chris Dodd indicated they could pass a law that would tax virtually all of the AIG Bonuses. Dodd says this is something that "could happen fast. We could write this tomorrow." Wow, now that is impressive! As Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, it took Senator Dodd several years to oversee the most significant financial disaster in modern history. Now, he can whip out a punishment tax and have it approved in just 24 hours (yeah…I know..”punishment tax” is a bit redundant).
My advice for the Washington Liberals? Stay out of the banking business. You failed miserably in the most basic of acquisition rules and then tried to cover it up with your “outrage.” Just stick to what you do best; taxing the evil rich as punishment for individual achievement. Then redistribute the ill-gotten booty to the masses so that you can continue to allow people to “vote themselves money” and keep you in office.

Of course, you need to watch Fox News to become aware of his little joke comparing his bowling abilities to that of someone in the Special Olympics. Yeah, that is pretty insulting in more ways than one. The worst slam is that the folks in the Special Olympics totally smoke his score. Sorry Mr. President…you couldn’t qualify.

Turning Over a New Leaf....yeah, RIGHT!
I have decided to stop being so negative and cynical about everything. It is therapeutic to force oneself to have happy and positive thoughts. Accordingly, I decided to make a list of all of the good things that will come out of the Obama administration and the Democrat controlled Congress. Are you ready?
Here we go:

Alright, well…..this is going to be harder than I thought.
The potheads are smoggin it out up in Massachusetts right now. They voted to decriminalize weed for possession under 1 ounce. Funny thing is that most of the potheads are saying that weed is now “legal” in Massachusetts. Not so fast Cheech. Possessing any weed at all is still a ticket with a $100 fine. Oh yeah, the Pigs still confiscate your stash. Sorry to kill your buzz dudes. Maybe if you weren’t so stoned you wouldn’t have thought the new law meant it was legal in the first place.
Yesterday morning, I gassed up my SUV with 21 gallons at $2.09 per gallon! Saweeet! You could hear that 5.3 L – V8 just sucking the gas under that hood when I put my foot in the floor! Man…oh man. OPEC is just beside themselves. $60 per barrel!! Remember when light crude was on the way to $200 a barrel and our good friends in Saudi Arabia did not see a need to increase output? Now it is $60 a barrel and they are cutting output to no avail. Man, are these guys going to be in trouble if we ever figure out a way to be energy independent. Never mind that if a bunch of American companies formed a pact to control the output of anything they would go to jail for price fixing.
Apparently, there were reports of violence in Los Angeles and San Francisco during Gay protests to the passage of Proposition 8 (ban on gay marriage). Nope, it didn’t come from homophobe counter demonstrations or Bible thumpers. It was the gays themselves. Man, and to think a lot of folks were worried about racial tension when the election results were evident. As it turns out, not much racial tension……but is this what you would call “sexual tension?” It looks like we are in for a bunch more parades.
Last month, the board of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District voted 14-1 to construct suicide nets around the famous bridge for a cost of $50 million. Apparently, 19 jumpers have ended their life so far this year off of the span. According to my calculations, that is an average of 2.11 jumpers per month. At a construction cost of $50 million, that’s just under $2 million per jumper in the first year. I have always struggled with the morality of placing a dollar amount on a human life, but insurance companies do it. I am thinking a john boat and a big fishing gaff would be much more cost efficient.

Here is a guy that destroyed his home while trying to clean out the cobwebs with a blowtorch. Apparently, he was not harmed. Looks like natural selection did not win out this time.

The photo below captures a disturbing trend that is beginning to affect wildlife in the US . Since the Obama victory, animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democratic Party... as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance.
This photo is of a Democrat black bear in Montana nicknamed 'Bearack', who has a seat front and center at the table of wealth redistribution. I never knew a liberal could be so cute. Of course, just wait and see how long he stays this cute if his redistributed wealth doesn’t show up. Is that a FEMA trailer in the background?
